Beautiful Comfort, Durable Design

To some of you, the bed ensemble behind the Thistle Cottage 'HOME' logo shown on my home page might look familiar, that is, if you've had the pleasure of staying in Aunt Kate's Cottage in the picturesque town of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. Aunt Kate's is one of several delightful bed and breakfasts in Chase County, managed by Kris and Pat Larkin of the Lark Inn! (www.larkinnpropertymanagement.com)

This bedding is a combination of pieces from a collection by Ralph Lauren, and thrifted pillow shams in a bright floral pattern, which really pop against the denim comforter and heavily quilted Euro shams.

This was such a perfect combination of materials to be used in this setting, as denim is so durable and easy to maintain. Since this space is being used by the public, I needed to design this bedding with both comfort and wearability in mind, as well as being aesthetically pleasing and suitable to the decor throughout the rest of the cottage.

The next time you are looking to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life, check out Aunt Kate's Cottage. It has all the amenities of home, and sits just blocks away from the historic Chase County Courthouse, Tallgrass Antiques, and the headquarters for the Symphony in the Flinthills, with it's delightful gallery full of local art, unique gift items, and interesting books about the people and the lore of the tallgrass prairie.

Go online and check out the Chase County Chamber of Commerce (www.chasecountychamber.org) for more information on local attractions, eating establishments and current events. Don't let the appearance of a sleepy little town from the highway fool you! Chase County is a treasure trove of art, music and delicious food and drink, not to mention friendly folk who love sharing the delights of their community with you! Leave me a message for more details . I'm happy to help!
